I have received my coupons and am now waiting to get my converter boxes, there is a waiting list, however when I saw one (rca) I noticed it has a coax connector for “in from antenna” and a different type of input for a smart antenna, what are these? Is the coax for my outdoor pole antenna? Where would I get a “smart Antenna” and if over the air antenna’s will no longer be functional, why the coax input?

What about all the people who do not have access to internet? Like senior citizens, who also have a difficult time understanding all this? I manage senior housing and I’d like to assist them on my internet, but I’m only allowed to order 2 boxes per email address? Thanks!

      Hello Tami, thanks for visiting,
In reference to your question “I manage senior housing and I’d like to assist them on my internet, but I’m only allowed to order 2 boxes per email address?”

Check out http://www.tvconversionhelp.com/2008/05/21/executive-director-of-tv-network-exclaims-i-dont-think-this-country-is-ready-for-dtv/ I wrote an article just the other day on this. It’s a bit frustrating, and as of right now, I don’t see anything in the works to change it.

If any news comes across the wire, I’ll be sure to post it here on the website.

I presently use rabbit ears for an antenna which works fine. I hooked up to the digital converter box but it could not find a signal hence no picture. It displayed the message weak signal. What options do I have?

I have purchased two of the RCA converte boxes with the coupon program and have tried to hook them up to my TV’s. When I hook them up I get the message NO Signal. I live in the Saint Louis area and without the converter (just using my rooftop antenna) I get a good picture on several channels. What is the problem and how can I correct this?

Someone told us that with the converter boxes you wouldn’t be able to get channels more than 50 miles away, is this true or will we be able to get what we’re getting now?
Should we get the smart antenna or is our regular antenna going to work? We don’t want to keep spending money and then none of it work

      My Question:
I live in Puerto Rico and I already received my coupons. The problem is that the coupons have an expiration date and the stores don’t have the boxes in stock. What can I do if my coupons expires and I don’t have a place to buy it? I think that the coupons do not suppose to have an expiration date.

I heard on tv that we are supposed to buy a digital converter box that has both NTSC and ATSC tuners or it’s a hoax box. When I ask this question at Best Buy and Radio Shack and other places; no one can give me a clear answer as to whether their boxes have both tuners. What boxes have both tuners and what exactly are both tuners? And why do we need both tuners? I have an older model (#CF1927B) Toshiba, cable ready tv; and I hook up to VHF/UHF antenna. I just ordered and received a DTX9950 converter box from Radio Shack and was told this would work for me. (The clerk said the NTSC tuner was analog built into my tv.) Will this box work for me? Thanks for any answers you can give me to clear up this two tuner question. Kathy Payne.

We have fringe analog reception between Tucson & Phoenix, using a huge yagi on the roof. (70 mi to Phx, 28 mi. to Tucson Mt.Lemmon). Reception is fine. With converter box, I get nothing but “weak signal” or “no program”. Are stations NOT yet transmitting digitally, or is our fringe distance hopeless. Nowhere can I find whether digital broadcasting spectrum is higher or lower than UHF channel frequencies. Thanks
