What can I do if my coupons expires and I don’t have a place to buy a converter box?

Hector recently posted a question:

“I live in Puerto Rico and I already received my coupons. The problem is that the coupons have an expiration date and the stores don’t have the boxes in stock. What can I do if my coupons expires and I don’t have a place to buy it? I think that the coupons do not suppose to have an expiration date.”

Hello Hector, and thank you for visiting!
Check out this news story when you get a chance. It appears that lawmakers are currently reviewing the 90 day expiration policy on the converter box coupons. As of 6/11/08, the expiration dates on the coupons have not been extended, so you’ll want to make sure and use them before the exp. date they’ve given you.

Have you searched online for converter boxes? I must admit that I have limited experience when it comes to giving you information about usage of the coupons internationally and what type of converter you’ll want to use.

You may want to visit Solid Signal (I have not verified this retailer of converter boxes, so proceed with caution). Their shipping locations outside the continental U.S. include Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands

I, too, live in Puerto Rico and can’t find a box, either. Wal-Mart seems to be the cheapest place where you can get them, but they never have them in stock. Sears was out of them. K-Mart told me they didn’t have any and weren’t going to sell them anymore. Radio Shack wants $34.89 in addition to the coupon (too expensive) AND you have to pay upfront and they’ll order it for you. I tried an online store and it says that my coupon number is incorrect. My coupon expires in three weeks. This is just too much of a hassle. I only want it in case of a hurricane when there’s no cable, Dish, etc.

I also have two (2) coupons that expired due to illness, I was unable to get out to purchase the converter box’s.

How do I replace them, and what if you have more then two TV sets that require antenna’s?

      Thank You.

I received my 2 coupons and did not notice that there is an expiration date. As I have never seen a converter box at the store, I assumed that no one has them yet. BIG Mistake! I looked at my coupons again the other day and noticed that the expiration date is October 1, 2008! Can you help me? I have seen and priced the boxes at Target and have no coupons! OH, dear!!!
      Thank you, Barbara Huebner
