Leave it up to our goverment to put a date on these cards. They obviously didn’t want to help us out after all. When are they going to leave well enough alone and work on what really needs fixing. Someday they might actually figure it out and quit wasting the tax payers money.
P.S. They don’t need to re-issue cards—they just need to accept the out-dated cards they have already issued.

Another Government program with out any insight. Why would you place an exiration date on a card you spent money on and now thousands need them to be re-activated because they did not get one in the alotted time. If these cards had to have an expiration date, then it should have been at the time the change was taking place. This would have been a little smarter and more sensible for the people and our government. Especially now with our economy the way it is.

The answer to almost everyone’s problem is poor govt. management. When are we ever going to learn? The government screws us over and over and over and we just keep giving them money to screw us even more with. It is sooo.. stupid to put an expiration date on these coupons. Now it will probably take an act of congress to change this. I’ve had the same problem that most people have had with the stores being out of converter boxes until the coupon expires. I can’t help but believe that there is some sort of conspiracy going on with the cable and satellite and the FCC. Why else would we be getting screwed? We can come up with all sorts of ways they can redeem our coupons but who is going to listen? When govt. stops listening, it’s time to change the govt. This is what happens when we let them legislate our rights away. Our rights as taxpaying citizens are diminishing more everyday.

after reading these comments, i at east feel better that i am not alone. i sent for the coupon right away, not thinking that the government would be dumb enough to put an expiration date on the coupons in the first place let alone that they would have them expire even before you could get a box. as for the expense of giving out new coupon, why not just admit the expiration dates were stupid and let everyone just use the coupons they already have. just have the retailers ignore the expiration dates.

I WENT TO CIRCUIT CITY TO GET A CONVERTER BOX ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE COUPON HAD EXPIRED. WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY PUT AN EXPIRATION ON THESE COUPONS BEATS THE HECK OUT OF ME. THEY COULD OF AT LEAST LET IT RUN THOUGH THE DEADLINE. I THINK THESE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF THIS PROGRAM HAVE TOO MUCH EDUCATION AND NOT ENOUGH COMMON SENSE. THIS NEW ADMINISTRATION SAYS THERE’S GONNA BE A CHANGE, THEN HOW ABOUT CHANGING THESE EXPIRED COUPONS INTO UNEXPIRED COUPONS AND MAYBE I MIGHT BELIEVE YOU.

First there were no boxes available. Then the coupon expired and of course they are not being re-issued. My husband and I really need the converter box because he is handicapped and on a fixed income. I believe that if a coupon has expired it most certainly should be re-issued, after all, they were sent to those of us who need the use of a coupon to make our daily expenses a little less in the hard times ahead.

I find it stupid my coupons even had an expiration date on them. I requested these at the first sign of the changes and the stores were not ready for the purchases, my coupons then expired. I cannot understand why the program cannot reinstate the coupons now. We will still use them, we can prove that we got them and they can see the expiration date on them so they know we are not getting extras. This is ridiculous that someone can have such control over the situation.

I think this is a ploy to get more money from people, when the government is steady helping out CEO’s. What about us? If I were a mexican I could get help. I think it is ludicrous!!!!!!!! I guess we r all SOL!!!
