DTVPal DVR

Dish Network DTVPal DVR
Details: Watch one HD channel while you record another; it will record two different HD or SD shows while you watch a third, previously-recorded show. You can also use pause, instant replay, and rewind on live programming. Recording capacity is 30 HD hours and 150 SD hours with the internal 250GB hard drive. The included IR remote has buttons for skip, replay, and supports four speeds of fast forward and reverse, slow motion, and frame-by-frame advance. Seven days of advance program details are available for each broadcast channel.
How much should you pay: We’ve seen a few DTVPal DVRs sell on eBay in January 2010 for between $225-$275 though they aren’t put up for auction very often.
Likes: One of only a few DVRs for over-the-air (antenna television). Cheap price compared to competing OTA DVRs.
Dislikes: The seven day program guide has a caveat: Most over-the-air networks only broadcast 24-48 hours of program guide information even though the DTVPal DVR is capable of receiving up to 7 days. Only 1 year warranty period.
