Will my Analog TV become obsolete after February 17, 2009?

No. A digital-to-analog converter box will allow you to continue using your existing analog TV to watch over-the-air digital broadcasts.

IMPORTANT: Only consumers who receive over-the-air television signals (Antenna) and some cable customers will be affected by the transition.  If you currently have cable or satellite television, you can check out this recent post to help you understand which companies are offering to help customers with the digital transition.

You can also contact your cable or satellite service provider for more information on how they plan on upgrading their existing customers to Digital Television. There shouldn’t be a fee, but some recent news stories have shown otherwise.
